I wrote a short paper to articulate why I believe that AI detection shouldn't play a role in higher education. It's a short survey of what happened, with the hope of highlighting a few excellent studies in one place.
The paper has now been published here: https://doi.org/0.1002/tl.20624 . The title has been changed by the editors… but my position is still the same! It’s open access so everyone should be able to read it but, alternatively, you can also find it on arXiv (as usual, preprint, so not peer reviewed yet!).

Thank you for this thoughtful write-up of the state of the "assessment problem". I am in a situation where I need to change the minds and the very foundations of the perceptions and emotions of a number of educators regarding what LLMs mean to assessment, and this will be invaluable.
